This article annalyzes Tyler Farr’s new stalker anthem “Redneck Crazy”, which is about what a man planned to do to his cheating girlfriend. His “redneck” actions were described in the passage. The author talked about his creepy behavior, which seemed to be the main trend in country music. Song like the Dixie Chicks’ “Goodbye Earl”, and “Before he cheats” by Carrie Underwood, all had a message of wanting revenge after being cheated on. This song not only made it onto the radio, it even became a number one hit. I never saw country music being a threat, or suggestive even. However, after this article I start to see how it worry parents. Knowing that there are psychopaths out there, songs like this can really encourage their reckless behaviors. There are people who think this song is “cute”, “funny”, or “romantic” need to read between the lines, and see what the song is really suggesting.
